Dry Days, Cool Nights
Koh Kood's Weather in January
January, one of the coldest months on Koh Kood, comes with dry, comfortable days. The heat is manageable, with humidity staying low enough to feel dry. After sunset however, temperatures might drop, and the evenings and especially mornings can get surprisingly chilly with temperatures as low as 18°C.
Rain? Unlikely. However, there's a possibility of a mild storm in the first days of January. Usually wind is just a mild breeze, coming from the north to north east bringing cooler air.
Waterfalls are still doing their thing — not in full power, but enough for a rinse or a photo.
Mornings may start with some cloud cover and a bit hazy, but by noon, the island typically transitions to "perfect tropical postcard" mode: clear skies, calm seas, and plenty of sunshine.
High tide between mornring and early afternoon, low tide in the evening and water levels lower than in December — January comes with beautiful beaches, especially later in the day. These conditions, paired with calm seas and excellent visibility, often make for great snorkeling and diving of the year.
Nights are great for stargazing, especially away from light sources.
Island Wisdom
Evenings and early mornings can get quite chilly, pack a jumper or a light jacket. You even might see people in dawn jackets wearing hats.
